At Kurant Spain, we would like to transparently inform you about a temporary change affecting the operation of our Bitcoin ATMs in Spain.
Why are we pausing the service?
On 30 June 2026, the national transitional period associated with the European Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA – Regulation (EU) 2023/1114) came to an end. As of 1 July 2026, operating crypto-asset ATMs in Spain requires a valid MiCA licence issued by the competent authority.
Kurant Spain has submitted its application for a MiCA licence. However, as the administrative review process is still pending, we have decided to voluntarily suspend the operation of our ATMs on a temporary basis.
This decision reflects our strong commitment to regulatory compliance, transparency, and the protection of our customers.
What does this mean for you?
- Kurant Spain’s Bitcoin ATMs will not be available for buying or selling cryptocurrencies until further notice.
- There is no risk to customer funds. Kurant does not hold or custody customer funds between transactions.
- As soon as we obtain our MiCA licence, we will resume operations and inform all registered users.
Our Commitment
Kurant has been operating in the European crypto-asset sector for many years. In Germany and Austria, we have already successfully completed similar regulatory transition processes. We apply the same high standards of transparency, security, and regulatory diligence in Spain.
We will continue to keep you informed through this website, our social media channels, and our newsletter.
